“Fifties and hundreds are not important”: Rohit Sharma silences curious Harsha Bhogle

Rohit Sharma doesn’t play for records and despite making this clear to Harsha Bhogle, the renowned commentator once again questioned the Indian captain about the missed opportunity to complete a hundred against Australia in the Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit scored 92 runs off 41 runs, including 8 sixes and 7 fours. He went after the Aussie bowlers especially Mitchell Starc. His innings took the Men in Blue to 205/5.

Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his best knock of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Bhogle was curious to know if Rohit wanted to complete a hundred.

“I told you in the last game that fifties and hundreds are not important to me. The focus is on winning the game and I have been trying to play like that for a long time.

“It was pleasing to see how we performed with the ball. Kuldeep Yadav was good against Australia. We couldn’t play him in New York but he was always there in the scheme of things and when we came to the West Indies for Super 8 matches, Kuldeep was an automatic choice,” Rohit Sharma said on Star Sports.
