Just 100 examples of the special variant will be produced, each painted pearl white with a red folding top

The MG Cyberster is one of the most compelling electric sports cars currently on sale in China and the carmaker has just introduced a special version of it known as the Red Top Edition.
The MG brand has come a long way from the original MG Rover Group that folded in the UK nearly two decades ago. Now, with the introduction of the new Cyberster Red Top Edition, the company is paying a nostalgic tribute to its roots as it marks its 100th anniversary.
This special edition draws inspiration from the classic 1956 MGA and 1967 MGB, both offered in pearl white paint with folding red fabric convertible tops. The iconic MG Magnette of 1958 also sported a similar paint scheme, although it featured a fixed roof painted in red.

A limited production of just 100 units of the Cyberster Red Top Edition is planned, with three trim levels available, priced between 319,900 yuan and 359,800 yuan ($45,100 – $50,700). Notably, there don’t seem to be any mechanical changes when compared to the standard Cyberster.

Sitting at the base of the range you’ll find a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive model generating 310 hp. It’s available with either a 64 kWh battery or a 77 kWh battery, providing respective ranges of 311 miles (501 km) and 360 miles (580 km).
If you’re craving more power, there’s the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant boasting a robust 536 hp, exclusively paired with the 77 kWh battery pack. This version can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a swift 3.2 seconds, although its range slightly dips to 323 miles (520 km).
The EV has evidently garnered a positive response in China, with around 300 units sold across the country in December. Deliveries of the Red Top Edition are scheduled to kick off in March.
