India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While Virat Kohli was named the Player of the Match, Jasprit Bumrah got the Player of the Tournament award.

Bumrah took 15 wickets and was unplayable in all the games. It was his bowling that won the matches for the Men in Blue. When the sub-continent team was behind against Pakistan, he dismissed Mohammad Rizwan to put the rivals on the backfoot.

He had similar impact against Australia and England. In the final against the Proteas, Jasprit bowled one of the most crucial spells and also dimissed Marco Jansen in the death overs.

Virat Kohli heaped massive praise on the pacer, calling him once ina generation bowler. The veteran batter was speaking during the celebration ceremony organized for Team India at the Wankhede Stadium.

“He always kept us in the game. Jasprit Bumrah brought us back whenever we were in tricky situations. He is once in a generation bowler and we are lucky that he is playing for us. I want to thank him for helping the team,” Virat Kohli said.
