New Delhi: In the third Test match between India and England at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharma regained his form as he smashed his 11th Test hundred. After this knock, the hitman scripted several feats and even went past former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly in the list of scoring the most runs in international cricket by Indian. The 37-year-old now sits on the fourth place in the list of highest run-scorers in international cricket while Ganguly has slipped to the fifth position.

Rohit Sharma has scored 18,600+ runs in approximately 470 matches so far, whereas Ganguly scored 18,575 runs in 424 matches. In this regard, the greatest batsman Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 34,357 runs scored in 664 matches. Former Indian captain and legendary batsman Virat Kohli holds the second position on this list. He has scored 26,733 runs in 522 matches, while Rahul Dravid, the current head coach is third on this list. He has scored 24,614 runs in 504 matches.

Speaking of Rohit Sharma’s international cricket career, he has amassed more than 18,600 international runs in 494 innings at an average of about 45. During this time, the right-handed batsman has smashed 41 centuries and 101 half-centuries. His highest individual score remains 264 runs.

Rohit Sharma also went past Sachin Tendulkar in the list of most runs in international cricket by an Indian captain. Rohit Sharma has scored 4,527 runs and counting, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 4,508 runs. In this list, former Indian captain Virat Kohli leads with 12,883 runs.

Talking about the ongoing match, the Indian team elected to bat after winning the toss. The English bowlers took three early wickets, but Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma formed a crucial partnership for the fourth wicket and pushed the team’s score ahead. Meanwhile, for England, Mark Wood took two wickets, while Tom Hartley got one wicket.

In the first match of the series played in Hyderabad, England handed India a 28-run defeat , but India made a splendid comeback in the next match in Visakhapatnam, defeating the visitors by 106 runs and leveling the series at 1-1.
