Team India likely to be stuck in Barbados after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Team India is likely to get stuck in Barbados after their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph on Saturday, 29 June. The Men in Blue can’t leave due to Hurricane Beryl, which is expected to make landfall by Monday morning. It is a category 3 storm and ks expected to leave devastating impact in Barbados.

Rohit Sharma’s team is in their hotel and might opt to stay back for safety reasons. According to Vikrant Gupta, who is one of the leading sports journalist, the situation in Barbados is not looking good.

“Hurricane Beryl will hit Barbados either tonight or early morning Monday. The landfall is going to be severe. Barbados airport will shut down and flights are being cancelled. Even the Indian team will be stuck here till the Hurricane subsides and the airport resumes. We are stuck here too. All outbound flights are being cancelled,” he wrote on X.

Meanwhile, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to claim their second T20 World Cup title in the shortest format. Virat Kohli was named the Player of the Match for scoring 76 runs.
