Cauliflower has emerged as a preferred cash crop for farmers in Farrukhabad, promising sustained profitability and growth opportunities in agriculture.

The agricultural landscape in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad is witnessing a transformation as farmers explore new avenues for profitability. Departing from traditional crops, farmers in the region have turned their attention towards cauliflower, a move that has proven highly lucrative. With earnings of up to Rs 50 lakhs per ‘bigha’, cauliflower has emerged as a preferred cash crop for farmers in Farrukhabad, promising sustained profitability and growth opportunities in agriculture.

Costing merely Rs 2,000 per ‘bigha’, cauliflower cultivation has become a staple for many farmers, yielding substantial returns. Rajpal, a veteran farmer from Malikpur village, has cultivated cauliflower for decades without encountering any losses, consistently earning profits in lakhs of rupees.

Investing in cauliflower has been a boon, Rajpal remarked, emphasising the resilience of this crop. His experience spans over two decades, during which he has witnessed consistent demand in the market for this vegetable.

The success of cauliflower farming lies in meticulous preparation and care, as Rajpal explained his method, saying that after leveling the field and preparing the soil, he plants three cauliflower seedlings per meter. Timely irrigation and attentive nurturing ensure a bountiful harvest, he further explained.
