MI Cape Town have signed England’s Test captain, Ben Stokes, and New Zealand’s star bowler, Trent Boult, for SA20 2025. The two-star players will add experience to the franchise. Ben Stokes, who has retired from T20Is and ODI cricket, is one of the best all-rounders in the world.
He is currently out of action due to a hamstring injury but is expected to get fit for England’s tour of Pakistan in October.
Ben Stokes has accumulated 3023 runs in 159 T20 matches at an average of 24.77 and a strike rate of 133.23 and taken 90 wickets at an average of 30.38.
Trent Boult has already played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, and MI Cape Town is owned by the same owners. He is one of the renowned left-arm fast bowlers in modern cricket.
Boult has taken 121 wickets in 104 T20 matches. He played for MI for two seasons and claimed 25 wickets in 15 games during the title-winning campaign in 2020.
Boult also plays for MI New York in the Major Cricket League in the United States, another franchise owned by Mumbai Indians. He took 22 wickets, helping MI New York lift the trophy in 2023.
