Lucknow Super Giants have won three matches in the Indian Premier League 2025. They are fourth in the table with six points from five matches. In the latest game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the visiting team registered a 4-run win at Eden Gardens. Rishabh Pant’s batting form is the biggest concern for the franchise, as their captain has failed to make contributions. However, his captaincy has been praised by the leading former players. Navjot Singh Sidhu made a bold statement on the southpaw, saying his worth is INR 50 crore.
Batting first, Lucknow posted 238/3, with Nicholas Pooran (87*), Mitchell Marsh (81), and Aiden Markram doing the maximum damage with the bat. LSG then restricted KKR to 234/7 in 20 overs.
“Rishabh Pant is worth INR 50 crore and not INR 27 crore. His use of the DRS, field placements, and bowling changes have been working for the Lucknow Super Giants. His batting is not working, but he has been spot-on as a skipper.
“He is leading from the front and showing a way to his players. Pant has been brilliant,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
Lucknow bought Rishabh for INR 27 crore in the mega auction, making him the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League. He replaced KL Rahul as a captain for the 18th season. Pant has been accused of throwing his wicket away.
