Star Indian Batter Virat Kohli recently reached an incredible milestone, recording his 100th fifty in T20 cricket. He became the first Indian and only the second player overall to achieve this feat. Virat reached this milestone during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in IPL 2025.
In terms of the most fifties in T20s, Virat Kohli sits in second place with 100 fifties, just behind Australian great David Warner (who has 108 fifties). Babar Azam from Pakistan ranks third on the list, with 90 half-centuries to his name.
Across 405 T20 appearances, Virat has accumulated 13,134 runs at an average of 41.69, including nine centuries and 100 fifties. His highest score is 122*, and he is India’s all-time leading T20 run scorer, ranking fifth overall.
In the chase, RCB got off to a strong start with an excellent opening partnership between Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. The pair put on 92 runs for the first wicket, with Salt contributing a quickfire 65 off 33 balls. After Salt’s dismissal, Virat and Devdutt Padikkal took charge, with Virat marking his 100th T20 fifty, finishing unbeaten on 62. Padikkal played a valuable supporting role, scoring 40 off 28 balls. RCB comfortably chased down the target, securing a 9-wicket victory.
Earlier in the innings, Rajasthan Royals struggled to play aggressively against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on a slow Jaipur pitch. The surface at Sawai Mansingh Stadium didn’t favour the batters, and the 2008 champions finished with 173/4 in 20 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with a composed 75 off 47 balls, hitting 10 fours and 2 sixes. He appeared set for a century but was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood. Riyan Parag made 30 off 22 balls, while captain Sanju Samson scored just 15 off 19. Jurel provided a late burst, scoring 35 runs off 23 balls, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yash Dayal each took a wicket for Bengaluru.
