Team India’s star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has divorced his wife Dhanashree Verma. For the first time, he has broken his silence on the matter and shared what he went through during that phase. Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal revealed that he had suicidal thoughts at the time and was fed up with his life.
Chahal said:
“I used to cry for two hours and sleep for only two hours. I went through this phase for 45 days. I wanted to take a break from cricket.”
Due to all these issues, he was unable to focus on the game.
Yuzi further added:
“During the divorce, I was accused of cheating, but I have never cheated anyone in my life. No one will find a more loyal person than me. But all these things completely broke me.”
