A look inside Celebrity Cruises’ new ship with rooftop garden and sunset bar | Cruise | Travel

Celebrity Cruises’ latest ship, Celebrity Ascent, was introduced to the world today in a special naming ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The new cruise ship, which is the sister ship to Celebrity Beyond, is said to set a new standard for modern cruising and will elevate the premium travel experience.

Attending the naming ceremony were the ship’s co-Godmothers Captain Sandy Yawn, the star of Below Deck, and her sister Michelle Dunham, the founder of the Jacksonville School for Autism.

The cruise ship was named in a ceremony in a true maritime tradition where someone breaks a champagne bottle on the ship’s hull.

The Celebrity Ascent includes some incredible features and was designed by some of the world’s leading architects and interior designers to deliver a luxurious travel experience.

The ship also includes Michelin starred chefs as well as onboard entertainment.

Some of the ship’s best features include an exclusive resort-within-a-resort area for suite guests named The Retreat; luxurious accommodation including two-storey villas with private plunge pools and staterooms with infinite verandas.

And the unparalleled luxury doesn’t stop there. The ship also has a Rooftop Garden and a stunning Resort Deck which as unique cantilevered float pools.

There’s also a multi-terraced Sunset Bar; an expanded onboard entertainment program which includes live productions, interactive gaming experiences and live music; a redesigned casino floor; a new outdoor dining terrace at Blu; an exclusive culinary experience in Le Voyage by Chef Daniel Boulud and the return of the Magic Carpet®.

The Ascent will set sail from Fort Lauderdale on December 3 on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise that will stop off at St. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Dominican Republic.

Following her maiden voyage, there will be a variety of Caribbean itineraries in April and then a Mediterranean sailing from Barcelona to Rome.

A seven-night Bahamas, Mexico and Grand Cayman itinerary from mid-December 2023 to early April 2024

Seven-night San Juan, Tortola and St. Kitts itinerary from mid-December 2023 to early April 2024
