Rohit Sharma behaved like a normal cricket fan before Suryakumar Yadav took a sensational catch of David Miller in the final over of South Africa’s run chase against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final on June 29. Rohit was seen holding his breadth when Miller hit the full-toss from Hardik Pandya toward the long-off boundary.
Rohit thought it was a six after the ball went high the air toward the long-off area. However, he was ecstatic after Suryakumar Yadav took a blinder.
Hardik was given the ball with South Africa needing 16 from the last over. David Miller was on strike and Pandya bowled a full-toss. Miller hit it hard in a bid to clear long-off, but Suryakumar managed to prevent a boundary by taking a catch to end Miller’s innings.
Suryakumar Yadav timed his jump to perfection and grabbed the ball cleanly without touching the boundary cushion.
South Africa accumulated 9 runs in the last over and lost the final by 7 runs. The equation was 30 off 30 at one stage with Heinrich Klaasen hitting a magnificent fifty. in their chase of 177. However, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik bowled according to the plan to put the Proteas under pressure.
