India batter Cheteshwar Pujara feels Australia have the edge over the visiting team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India National Cricket Team are in Australia for five matches, but the players are not in form at the moment, having underperformed in the red-ball matches against New Zealand.
“If we take the recent results into consideration, Australia are ahead. India lost 0-3 against New Zealand, and this would have played into the minds of the players. It is never easy to perform in Australia as they are competitive. India have young players and it is time for them to show their class. In the last series, several senior players were injured, and new players were given chances, and they won the series for the team,” Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports.
Former Australia player Matthew Hayden compared the two sides. “India and Australia are looking vulnerable as some of the players are looking to come back to form. Australia haven’t been able to find a replacement for David Warner, and opening has become an issue. India are facing similar issues in their batting department,” he said.
