CSK fan Kate Cross switches loyalties for RCB in WPL 2024

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) enthusiast Kate Cross has embraced a new journey with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, securing a deal for INR 30 lakh at the recent auction in Mumbai.

Despite her allegiance to CSK, Cross expressed her enthusiasm for joining RCB with a tweet in response to Alexandra Hartley’s welcoming gesture on social media. In an RCB jersey, Cross playfully acknowledged her fondness for the team, stating, “Always had a soft spot for RCB, AI.”

However, she assured her loyalty to CSK in the same message, emphasizing, “Ps. Still CSK.”

This commitment comes from a cricketer who once playfully teased RCB during the IPL 2020 season.

Cross, initially unsold in the inaugural WPL edition, later ventured into the league as a commentator. The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having played in prestigious tournaments like the Women’s Big Bash League and The Hundred Women.

Her recent stint with the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred Women saw her secure 10 wickets in as many games, showcasing her prowess as a medium pacer. In international matches, Cross has an impressive record, with 11 wickets in 16 T20Is, 79 wickets in 59 ODIs, and 24 wickets in seven Tests.

With such a track record, Kate Cross is set to make a significant impact in the WPL 2024 with her skills and dedication to the game.
