Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam’s father are taking on each other. The former wicket-keeper slammed Babar’s father, Azam Siddique, after his reaction to criticism of the current star batter. The problem started when Akmal questioned Babar Azam’s place in the white-ball teams and said that he should only play Test cricket for Pakistan. Akmal remarked while discussing the recent snub of Babar and Mohammad Rizwan from the T20I squad. Akmal backed the decision of the selectors and mentioned that both should only play red-ball cricket.
“In my opinion, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan should only play Test cricket for Pakistan. They should only be considered for the longest format,” Akmal said, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Babar Azam’s father didn’t like the remarks and slammed the former player. Siddique posted an old picture of Babar and Akaml and accused the latter of being jealous of his son. He also labeled him a failed cricketer.
“Talking behind the backs of successful people is a compulsion of those who have failed,” Siddique captioned the post. He also used a Turkish proverb: “If someone says they are your brother, they should also clarify whether they are like Habil or Qabil.”
Kamran hits back at Babar Azam’s father
Kamran lashed out at Babar’s father, asking him to stay away from false narratives. Akmal said that he shouldn’t comment without checking the facts. Babar Azam and Kamran Akmal are cousins.
“May Allah give you more success. It is not good to remain silent every time, especially when someone is spreading false narratives about you,” Akmal wrote. “I urge you to check facts before any comment. My parents taught me to never be jealous of anyone. I have proudly represented Pakista,” he further wrote.
“Choose your words carefully. You shouldn’t cross the boundaries and limts. Don’t lose your respect,” Akmal mentioned.
“Cricket is about performance. You can’t hide the truth when you going to hit at someone,” he concluded.
