Gautam Gambhir is going to be successful as Team India’s head coach: Andy Flower

Former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower has backed Gautam Gambhir to succeed as the India head coach. The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced Gambhir as the new head coach of the men’s team after the end of Rahul Dravid’s tenure following India’s triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Gambhir was the front-runner for the role. Under his mentorship, KKR clinched the Indian Premier League title after 10 years. Flower called Gambhir a proud Indian and hailed his passion towards the Indian cricket.

“I have enjoyed working with him. His views are clear and he is opinionated. Gambhir is a proud Indian. He is going to be successful with the Indian team,” Andy Flower said on Sony Sports.

Former India batter Abhinav Mukund also feels that Gambhir is the right choice.

Under Gambhir’s mentorship, LSG played in the playoffs for two consecutive seasons. The legendary cricketer will be expected to win trophies for India.
