“He should play in place of Harshit Rana in the third Test against Australia”: Ex-India player demands inclusion of a benched player in Brisbane

Harshit Rana is just two years old, and the demands for his exclusion from the next Test have already started. Former India player Harbhajan Singh wants the team management to bench the young fast bowler from the upcoming Brisbane Test.

Rana made his debut in Perth and took four wickets in India”a win 295 runs in Perth. He failed for his performance and was called a future star. However, he couldn’t get going in the second game against the Adelaide Oval and was hammered by Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head for boundaries. Rana was put under a lot of pressure by the Aussie batters.

When Rohit Sharma was asked about Harshit’s bowling at the Adelaide Oval, he expressed the need to back him.

“It is not right to drop players after just two games. He is a new to the system but bowled well in the first Test. The Aussie batters took advantage of his inexperience in the second game and but that happen with anyone. I feel we need to support our players,” Rohit Sharma said.

However, Harbhajan is not in favor of Rana getting another game in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.

“I was not in his favour for the first Test but the team management went ahead with him. You have Prasidh Krishna sitting on the bench and he should get a chance in the third Test. He is good bowler and can replace Harshit,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
