Chennai Super Kings don’t lose easily at Chepauk, and they once again demonstrated their skills at home. Playing against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians, the hosts registered a four-wicket win to add two points to the table. Noor Ahmad, who was playing his game for the Men in Yellow, bagged the Player of the Match award for taking four key wickets.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma failed to carry on in front of him as the five-time champions restricted the visiting team to 155/9 in 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra, who hit fifties, completed the chase of 156.
Ambati Rayudu heaped massive praise on the young spinner of Afghanistan. “He is an important player, and the batters are finding it hard to read his line and length. Noor will be a CSK player to watch out for in Chennai. I haven’t seen CSK celebrating like they did after managing to get Noor Ahmad. He was an important part of the plans,” he said on Sports.
Noor was signed for INR 10 crore, and despite interest from other franchises, CSK managed to secure the player’s services. He will play a key role in the remaining six contests in Chennai.
