Sanjay Manjrekar feels captain Shubman Gill will have to focus on his captaincy and batting to restart the run-scoring machine. The 25-year-old managed just 16 and 6 in the third Test against England at Lord’s.

India lost the match by 22 runs and are trailing by 1-2 in the five-match series. With an eight-day break between the third and fourth red-ball games, Manjrekar believes Shubman Gill can return to his best.

“He has the ability to among the run-scorers. He can speak to his friends and father about the recent arguments he had with the England . He needs to focus on captaincy, fielding, tactics and batting. If he does that, I believe the run-making machine will start again at Old Trafford,” Manjrekar told JioHotstar.
