The India vs Pakistan match in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup is one of the most anticipated fixtures, set for October 5 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This venue was chosen due to a hybrid hosting arrangement between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), making it a neutral location. Given the intense rivalry and tension between the two nations, this match is expected to be one of the tournament’s highlights.
The tournament is set to begin on September 30 with India playing Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India will compete across multiple venues, including Bengaluru and Colombo. Notable matches include India’s face-off with Bangladesh on October 26 in Bengaluru and a showdown with Australia, the defending champions, as part of the competitive round-robin stage.
Pakistan, having qualified through the World Cup qualifiers held in Lahore, will play all their group-stage matches in Colombo. Due to issues between the two countries, the Men in Blue had played all their 2025 ICC Champions Trophy matches, including the semi-final and final in Dubai rather than traveling to Pakistan. As for Pakistan, they will play all their group-stage matches in Colombo. These include games against Bangladesh on October 2, England on October 15, New Zealand on October 18, South Africa on October 21, and Sri Lanka on October 24.
Defending champions Australia will kick off their campaign on October 1 against New Zealand in Indore, and then face Pakistan on October 8 in Colombo. A much-anticipated rematch of the 2022 final between Australia and England is set for October 22 in Indore.
The tournament will feature 28 league matches and three knockout rounds across five venues: Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo. The semi-finals are scheduled for October 29 (Guwahati/Colombo) and October 30 (Bengaluru), with the final on November 2 at either Bengaluru or Colombo.
India is hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time since 2013. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
