Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie recently led the team to a thrilling ODI series win against Australia. The hosts won the first game by two wickets but the Men in Green hit back in some style in the second contest, registering a nine-wicket victory. Pakistan dominated the series decider and thumped the Aussies by 8 wickets to lift the ODI series trophy after 22 years.
Australia and Pakistan will.now compete in a three-match T20I series before taking on India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. The first Test will start on November 22 in Perth.
Cricket Australia is promoting the series against the Men in Blue, leaving Pakistan coach Gillespie unimpressed. The head coach mentioned that he didn’t see any promotion of the ODIs between Australia and Pakistan, with Cricket Australia only focusing on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3024.
“I didn’t see any promotion of our one-day internationals by Cricket Australia. It is confirmed that they are more interested in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the upcoming series is getting all the preference,” Gillespie told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“Fox did a great job but Cricket Australia showed no interest. It was clear where their priorities lies. It is their call and decision but I didn’t see any advertising for Pakistan ODI series,” he added.
Gillespie talked about Pakistan’s series win over the Aussies after 22 years and how exciting it was to lift the trophy Down Under. He feels Australia will try to find solutions for the T20I series. “Our bowlers exposed their batters. I am sure Australia will try to find solutions. It was pleasing to see that our boys won the ODI series in Australia.”
