Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the Sydney Cricket Ground after getting scans done at the nearby medical facility. There is no information available on the nature of the injury, but Mayanti Langer on Star Sports said that the medical team wanted to check his back. He had a major back surgery in March 2023 and was out of action for a long time. The right-arm speedster didn’t look a hundred percent fit on Day 2 of the fifth Test and went out on a couple of occasions.
He bowled just one over after the lunch break but couldn’t continue for a long time and left the playing area. The medical staff of the India National Cricket Team took him to a medical facility for scans as something was bothering him.
Earlier, he dismissed Marnus Labuschagne in the first session of the day, taking his match wicket tally to two. Overall, he has taken 32 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Bumrah has single-handedly kept India alive in the five-Test series with a breathtaking display of fast bowling. He started the series with an eight-wicket haul in Perth and then dismissed four batters in the second Test in Adelaide. In the third and fourth Tests, he picked up nine wickets each in Brisbane and Melbourne.
