Mohammad Kaif’s old tweet highlights his hypocrisy after better team on paper remark

Mohammad Kaif remained steadfast in his praise of the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team for their victory over Australia in the Twenty20 International Series on Sunday, December 3.

Even as a younger Indian team won the T20I series against a subpar Australian team, Kaif’s remarks sparked a range of responses on social media. India won the series 4-1, losing just one gameTwenty20 match in Guwahati.

“Better talent, better skills. This time the better team on the field, and on paper, won. 4-1,” Kaif wrote on social media.

In a tweet dated November 23, 2023, Kaif expressed his opinion that, although Australia won the World Cup, India was the team that really stood out during the competition. Although he accepted Australia’s win in the final, he underlined that India had been the better team theoretically, winning ten straight matches before losing the eleventh.

It turns out that earlier in a 7-year-old tweet from the former Indian batter, Kaif, made an appearance online, sharing a different perspective on teams.
Kaif brought up South Africa’s elimination from the T20 World Cup in 2016 without reaching the semifinals.

After suffering losses to England and the West Indies, the powerful South African team captained by Faf du Plessis was eliminated from the competition in the Super 10 round. In the Super 10 stage, South Africa only won twice, defeating Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
