Naveen Ul Haq, Nicholas Pooran take a dig at Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul

Naveen Ul Haq played a key role in Afghanistan’s sensational win over Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He took three wickets in including the big scalp of dangerous Travis Head. The southpaw failed to open his account and went back to the dressing room after facing three deliveries. This is the second time in less than a year that Naveen has got rid of Head for a duck, having done so in the AUS vs AFG match of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

After the contest, Naveen and Nicholas Pooran took a dig at KL Rahul, who is the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants. Naveen and Pooran play for LSG in the Indian Premier League.

Pooran posted an Instagram story that recalled his past conversation with the Afghanistan fast bowler. Naveen had expressed confidence in being able to get Travis Head’s wicket with the new ball. “U did say, if you get the new ball, U will do that,” Pooran wrote.

“You remember it,” replied Naveen.

In IPL 2024, Head was responsible for handing Lucknow their most embarrassing defeat as SRH completed the chase of 166 in 9.4 without losing a wicket.

Travis Head (89 off 30 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (75 runs off 28 balls) completed the task without any fuss. KL Rahul had introduced Naveen Ul Haq in the fifth over with Krishnappa Gowtham, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Thakur bowling before him.
