The interior features a minimalist design as there isn’t much besides a digital instrument cluster, a ‘floating’ infotainment system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. That being said, the six-seater comes nicely equipped with leather, a dual-zone climate control system, and a 15W wireless smartphone charger.

Higher-end variants are more luxurious and have a tri-zone climate control system as well as heated and ventilated seats in the first- and second-row. Customers can also get a 21-speaker premium audio system, a 15.6-inch rear entertainment system, and a Pilot Intelligent Driving Assistance System that uses a lidar sensor.

Motivation is provided by a range-extended powertrain that consists of a 1.5-liter engine, a 28.4 kWh battery pack, and a rear-mounted electric motor with 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and travel up to 124 miles (200 km) on electricity alone in the CLTC cycle.

Customers can also get a fully electric variant, which has a 67.7 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack. It powers an upgraded motor producing 288 hp (215 kW / 292 PS) and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the EV can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds. Drivers can also expect to travel up to 323 miles (520 km) between charges.

Pricing for the range-extended variant starts at ¥155,800 ($21,439) while the fully-electric model begins at ¥161,800 ($22,264).
