Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne, representing Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24, left fans in splits with a hilarious attempt at taking a selfie during the opening day of the tournament at The Gabba in Brisbane on December 7.

Labuschagne, known for his eccentric and humorous behavior, took nearly 20 seconds to fulfill a fan’s request for a selfie, as captured in a comical video shared on BBL’s official handle.

In the amusing clip, fans guide Labuschagne on how to take the perfect selfie. The cricketer, true to his unconventional style, attempts to capture the moment in both portrait and landscape modes, changing directions several times before finally succeeding.

Despite the entertaining distraction, Labuschagne contributed a solid 30 runs off 23 balls in Brisbane Heat’s victory in the opening match. The team scored 214/3 in their 20 overs after batting first.

Colin Munro emerged as the standout batter for Brisbane Heat, delivering an unbeaten 99 off 66 balls, featuring nine fours and five sixes. Skipper Usman Khawaja also contributed with 28 off 19 balls.

In the chase, Melbourne Stars fell short, being bowled out for 111 in 15.1 overs. Hilton Cartwright top-scored for the Stars with 33 off 16 balls. Brisbane Heat’s Mitchell Swepson claimed 3/23, while Michael Neser and Xavier Bartlett each picked up two wickets.
