Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez recently held a Q&A session with his fans on X. Hafeez was asked to name his favourite Indian player from the current team. The veteran named three exciting talents from the sub-continent country. He gave his vote to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma.
“There are some exciting, talented players from India. Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma,” he said.
Gill is leading Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2025, while Yashasvi is a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad. Abhishek Sharma recently hit 141 runs against Punjab Kings and led Sunrisers Hyderabad to success.
Shubman has cemented his place across formats in international cricket. He even led India against Zimbabwe and is the current vice-captain in one-day internationals. Yashasvi has been exceptional in Test cricket and scored over 300 runs in a five-Test series against Australia. Abhishek has been impressive for India in the shortest format of the game.
Gill and Jaiswal are expected to return to the T20I side before the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Hafeez is facing massive flak for questioning the legacy of the Pakkistan greats, who represented the country in the 90s. After Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis’ scathing attack, Shoaib Akhtar also hit out at Hafeez.
