Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has confirmed his participation as the captain of India Champions in the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). The tournament will take place in July in the United Kingdom, as announced in a WCL press release.
Yuvraj led India to victory in the first edition of the tournament. He will now aim to repeat that success. This time, he will be joined by Shikhar Dhawan, who will make his debut in the tournament after retiring from international cricket last year.
Yuvraj Singh expressed his excitement about leading the team again. “I’m looking forward to representing India again. The memories of our victory in the first edition will always remain special,” he said.
The previous season saw great performances from stars like Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, and the Pathan brothers (Irfan & Yusuf). They proved that their love for cricket remains strong.
A Tournament for Cricket Legends
The World Championship of Legends quickly became popular among fans. It gave them a chance to watch their favorite players back in action.
Harshit Tomar, Founder of WCL, shared his vision for the tournament. “This tournament gives a future to senior cricketers. Seeing them recreate their magic is fulfilling,” he said.
Nishant Pitti, Chairman and Chief Patron of WCL, also spoke about the league’s success. “WCL is not just a tournament. It is a celebration of cricket’s greatest players. It revives old rivalries and gives fans a nostalgic yet competitive experience,” he added.
